Write a commentThe Community Rescue Service Southern Division are looking for volunteers to support their Search and Rescue services in the South Down area.
If interested the charity will be holding an information evening on 16th January for the South Down Area - Newcastle, Downpatrick, Ballynahinch, Newry. This will be an informal evening, max. 2 hours. You might find it’s something you’d love to do, or not for you. You only give what time you can give, nothing more. They need people who want to join us in our:
- Search & Rescue Operations, (bringing loved ones back home); and
- Search & Rescue Support Team (giving an hour or two every other month to help us raise funds to pay for vital equipment).
The Operational Team have members who are 18 and members in their mid-60s.
It is not a pre-requisite that you can swim.
We search for missing, vulnerable and high risk people on land and in a select number of our rivers.
