Cost of using Districts leisure facilities to rise by 9%

The Leisure and Sports section of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council has agreed to increase prices for facilities by 9%. The new charges were on the agenda of last night's Active and Healthy Communities Committee for noting. It follows the setting of the District Rate in February for 2023/24  when it was agreed to raise charges for all council sections by 9%.

In Newry Leisure Centre a pay as you go swim for age 16+ will rise from £3.20 to £3.50 while concession rate will rise from £2.50 to £2.70. A Health Suite and Swim 16+ pay as you go will rise from £5.60 to £6.10 with concession rates going from £4.10 to £4.50.

Everything from Newry Bowls to Our Lady's Tennis Bubble to St Colman's Athletic Track has been subject to the 9% rise.
