Many Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Councillors act as Ambassadors, representing our Council at a senior level in local Government.
The new Council Chairperson, Councillor Michael Savage has acknowledged their work for the area.
Cllr Pete Byrne is Chairperson of Dublin Belfast Economic Corridor Oversight Board (DBEC); Cllr Terry Andrews is Chairperson of the National Association of Councillors NI Region; Cllr Valerie Harte is Junior Deputy Chairperson National Association of Councillors NI Region (NAC); Cllr Dermot Curran has notched up 49 Years of Councillor Service; Cllr Robert Burgess is President of Northern Ireland Local Government Association (NILGA) while Cllr Charlie Casey is National Chairperson of the National Association of Councillors.
