A Newry City councillor has condemned vandalism carried out on her election posters on the Belfast Road in Newry.
Speaking after the incidents when at least two posters were removed Cllr Geraldine Kearns said that it wouldn't deter her and explained that her party would be making a complaint to the PSNI.
Cllr Kearns said "I was deeply disappointed to see Sinn Féin election posters on the Belfast Road had been slashed in half. Our party will be making a complaint to the police about this criminal act
"Sinn Féin is committed to working for all in Newry City, to tackle the issues that matter to workers and families and to build a better future for the next generation here."
"This vandalism will not deter me, nor the rest of the team from our campaign to return a strong Sinn Féin to work for all in Newry." she added.
