Councillor Bróna Haughey has confirmed she has raised issues of concern from residents in the Poyntzpass and Acton areas with Council in the hope of getting them resolved “Residents from both Poyntzpass and Acton raised issues of concern with me recently. A number of these can hopefully be rectified by Council action, such as dealing with the weeds and grass on the pavements in Acton villages.
"Overflowing litter bins is a problem and I have asked that a more regular cleansing circuit is carried out in the village as well as the replacement of those bins which are in a sorry state of disrepair”.
The Armagh Banbridge & Craigavon Councillor also has reported all of the street light outages in the village to Department for Infrastructure (DfI) as well as road surface issues.
Commenting on signage issues in Poyntzpass, Cllr Haughey said “I have reported the grubby and filthy signage on your way in and out of Poyntzpass Village. I have requested DfI to ensure these are cleaned to make them clearer for motorists and make our roads safer.
"There are also problems with the gates along towpath and a official request for them to be repaired has been made. Local residents also voiced fears that locks have been cut off some gates on the towpath and vehicles that are not authorised to travel on the it have access and are disrupting not only residents but wildlife and the environment in the area”.
Concluding Cllr Haughey said “I look forward to these issues being resolved as soon as possible. If any resident has any other concerns please do not hesitate to get in contact with me."
