The Southern Health and Social Care Trust recently launched a new workshop in Newry for young people with disabilities in conjunction with the social enterprise community group SPACE.

"The Good Space - Creating Connections” workshops are designed to prepare 16-17 year olds for adulthood by developing employment skills, creating connections and networking opportunities.

Mark Irwin, Operational Manager for Short Breaks said “The Good Space is a place for young people to participate in free training, socialise, learn new skills and prepare for the next chapter in their lives.”

“Young people will have the opportunity to sample a range of activities such as upcycling, designing furniture, product promotion, retail experience and digital marketing while customising their days at The Good Space.

“After a successful open day on April 20th we are extremely excited to start working with the young people that are participating in the programme.”
