Write a commentThe Physiotherapy Team at Daisy Hill Hospital have been able to buy state of the art injection simulators a result of community donations to the Southern Trust.
The simulators will help staff at the hospital develop their skills in injection therapy.
Denise Hall, Clinical Lead for Physiotherapist Musculoskeletal Outpatients said: “We are delighted to have been able to purchase new injection simulators that will not only support staff to maintain and develop their skills in Injection Therapy but will greatly benefit and enhance the care of the Patient.”
“Feedback to date shows that pain and quality of life are greatly improved for those patients who have availed of Injection Therapy as part of their Physiotherapy plan, helping them to return to work, hobbies and normal lifestyle. It is also much more convenient for patients to receive their injection from their Physiotherapist, avoiding the need to attend additional appointments at other clinics.”
Southern Trust staff can also access the service following an Occupational Health Physiotherapy Assessment to help them remain at work and reduce sickness absence.
Siobhan Rooney, Chair of Endowment and Gifts Committee said: “The generosity of our community makes it possible for the Trust to do things that otherwise would not be possible and we are grateful for the continued support for Trust patients and staff.”
