The Church in Daisy Hill Hospital has recently been refurbished with a new welcome archway erected over the Church entrance and the porch repainted.
Patients, visitors and staff of all denominations are welcome to use this facility as a place to pray or sit quietly to reflect.
Edel Corr, Patient Support Manager within the Southern Trust, commented on the importance of the upgrade:
“We know that many of our patients and clients take great comfort from their faith while they are ill in hospital and our staff who are often working in stressful and emotional situations greatly appreciate a place to find some solitude in our busy hospital environment.
“That is why it’s important to keep these rooms in good condition and help maintain a welcoming aura for people when they need the peace. It’s a nice place for people to go at a difficult time.”
The Trusts ChaplaincyTeam also provides spiritual care services for patients, their families and staff.
The Church in Daisy Hill is located at the main foyer - it is open 8.00am to 11.00pm. Both rooms can be used outside of these hours by contacting the Portering Service.
