Write a commentThe Southern Trust have identified measures to improve traffic management at Daisy Hill Hospital including an additional 35 spaces on the site, exploring park and ride initiatives and improved wayfinding signage for vehicles and pedestrians.
It follows measures introduced last year with the introduction of parking enforcement at Daisy Hill to protect drop off zones, red hatched areas, emergency routes, ambulance bays and disabled spaces as well as renewed markings on disabled spaces to ensure they are visible.
Vivienne Toal, Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development for the Southern Trust says: “Traffic management is a continued priority, particularly around our very busy hospital sites. Over the past year we have put great effort into developing our traffic management strategy and have seen very notable improvements in the accessibility of parking and congestion has significantly eased.
“The introduction of parking enforcement has greatly increased the availability of disabled spaces for those who genuinely need them and is ensuring that red marked routes are kept clear for emergency vehicles."
Ms Toal concluded “We look forward to progressing a number of new developments this year and will continue to explore and identify priority areas to improve safety and access for everyone using our services right across all of our sites.”
