Write a commentDetectives in Newry are investigating the possibility of a link between two recent burglaries, where cash and jewellery were stolen.
The break-ins occurred on Thursday 12 December, one at a house on Sheepbridge Road in Newry and the other at a property in Church View in Bessbrook.Cash and jewellery were taken from each.
Detective Constable Kenny said: “I am keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with information about these crimes. I would especially like to speak to anyone who may have seen a white jeep type vehicle in either area on the day of the burglaries.
"We are also investigating a possible link between these crimes and four masked men who were found to be in the garden of a house in Bernish Avenue in Bessbrook. The men made off in what’s described as a silver Audi when challenged by a member of the public."
