Write a commentMLA Conor Murphy and MP Mickey Brady have met with senior Southern Trust staff last week to discuss winter pressures in the local health service, and what plans were in place to deal with expected problems.
Mr Murphy commented “Today I had the opportunity to meet with Trust staff to discuss upcoming winter pressures on local health services.
“Our Sinn Féin delegation discussed a number of measures, including an 'Older People's Assessment' to facilitate quicker treatment and discharge of elderly citizens.
“We also welcome the active liaising with social and community services to ensure a proper support network exists upon their return home.
“These are practical measures which will have a positive impact on the community.
“This time of year presents us with an opportunity to be mindful of the tireless efforts of all the staff at Daisy Hill Hospital, and to thank them for delivering first-class frontline services for us all.”
