Nidge a staffie had fallen off the cliff around 5pm on Friday and remained on a ledge until rescued on Saturday morning. In all around 12 rescue crew members were involved and the rescue was called off until Saturday due to darkness.

It would have been hard to watch for the owners as the dog was barking and trying to climb back up.
Nidge was none the worse for wear apart from a few scratches.
Gary McKeown brother of the dogs owner said "Massive thank you to the NI fire and rescue team, especially big Jonny for the rescue of Nidge the staffie. Also a big thank you to the Hughes family on the Hillhead road who couldn't do enough for us all"
