Newry Drama Festival continues tonight in the Town Hall with the Silken Thomas Players coming to Newry to put on their version of Jez Butterworth's Jerusalem, described as a wonderful rollicking dark bawdy comedy.
Highlights of the Festival so far have been the performance on opening night by the Bart Players, Belfast of Bernard Farrell's Stella By Starlight which had some wonderful comic moments but at the end of the play you were just grateful that you weren't the one that was married to any of them!
Saturday nights classic The Crucible by Arthur Miller went down really well with the capacity crowd with the actors getting a very well deserved round of applause as they arrived in the after club in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre.
My favorite so far would have to be J.B. Priestley's comedy costume drama When We Are Married performed fantastically on Tuesday night by the Rosemary Drama Group. Based around three couples who 25 years ago got married on the same day in the same parish and are out at one of their homes celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversaries when they hear a bit of dramatic news! As the drama unfolds the question arises, Are the couples actually technically married at all.

There follows a great play on words and on the situation that they find themselves in. For some looking on it is a great laugh but for those involved it stirs up a lot of issues... and even possibilities!
Looking forward to tonight.
