Every year, PIPS Hope & Support welcomes suicide bereaved families and friends to a Christmas Service of Remembrance, Hope & Healing to celebrate the life of their loved ones and to gain comfort from Personal Reflections, Poems, Beautiful Music & Singing, a Candlelight Possession and a Memory Tree service.
This years’ service will take place on Sunday 11th December at 4:00pm in the Church of the Assumption (Drumalane Church) Newry.
Chief Executive Officer, Seamus McCabe said “PIPS Hope and Support welcome those suicide bereaved families and friends to the upcoming service on December 11th. The Christmas service of Remembrance, Hope and Healing offers a time for personal reflection and remembrance. The service brings comfort and peace to those who need it and I do hope this year’s Christmas Service brings the same for those new families who will be joining us.”
Seamus continued “Our Christmas Service of Remembrance, Hope & Healing is very meaningful, poignant, and compassionate. It allows families and friends the opportunity to mix with others and provide an opportunity to speak about their loss knowing that they are not alone, that there is hope and support available. As per each year, memorial candles will be handed out and lit during the service and everyone will also have the opportunity to complete memorial cards and have them added to the Memory Tree which will be moved after the service and displayed in Newry Cathedral over the Christmas period.
If any family members, friends, or neighbours would like to add a Memorial Card to the Memory Tree, in advance of the service, please email info@pipshopeandsupport.org or call the PIPS Hope & Support Office, 028 3026 6195 with the sentiments that you would like added to the card to ensure that it is placed on the Remembrance Tree during the service by volunteer bereaved family members, or if you prefer write your own at the beginning of the service.
