Newry Museum is hosting a range of activities over the Easter break. Two arts and crafts events themed around Easter traditions take place on Saturday 8 April. These are open to families with children aged 5 - 11. Numbers are limited so booking of places is essential.
Times are 10.30 – 12pm and 1.30pm – 3pm
There will be an additional arts and craft session on Tuesday 11 April from 11am – 12.30pm, again booking is essential.
The cost for all these sessions is £1.64 per child. An adult must accompany children.
The museum will also be open on 10 and 11 April, so you can tour the galleries and visit the temporary exhibitions “Caring for the Community: The Development of Medicine in Newry and Mourne”, “The Legacy: Newry 1920 - 1930” and “Seamus Mallon: The Man and the Politician”.
The museum is also holding a talk, ‘The Seamus Mallon I knew’ takes place on 6 April at 2pm. Coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, Andy Pollack will visit the Museum to reflect on his time getting to know Seamus in the 20 months they spent co-writing Seamus’ memoir 'A Shared Home Place'. He will talk about being slightly intimidated by Seamus at the start him but ending as a warm friend to him and his family.
Following Andy’s talk, the floor will be open to questions from the audience. The talk will commence at 2pm and entrance will be free of charge
