Colleagues at firmus energy networks have rallied together to raise an impressive £17,000 for Dementia NI, their official charity partner for 2024.
firmus staff organised a range of fundraising activities throughout the past year. From a UEFA European Football Championship sweepstake to a staff table tennis tournament and creative Christmas events, employees went above and beyond to support the cause.
Team members took on a charity abseil and participated in the Belfast Marathon. A staff Bake-Off contest added an extra layer of fun to their fundraising efforts.
Chief Executive Officer Niall Martindale highlighted the significance of supporting Dementia NI, noting the charity's crucial work in providing peer support for people diagnosed with dementia. "Dementia NI performs incredible work," Martindale said. "They provide vital, peer support for people diagnosed with dementia through their network of empowerment groups and their 'In the Same Boat' service."
Dementia NI an organisation founded by just five passionate individuals committed to empowering those living with dementia and challenging existing misconceptions about the condition, was founded just ten years ago.
Karen Kerr, Head of Engagement at Dementia NI, expressed gratitude for the company's support. "We want to thank and recognise firmus energy networks for their amazing support in 2024 and the impact they have made for people living with dementia," she said, adding that the milestone "is a testament to the strength, resilience and determination of our members."
The fundraising efforts will help Dementia NI continue its critical work of supporting individuals diagnosed with dementia, raising awareness, and developing innovative services to meet growing community needs.
