The first of three crusie ships to call at Warrenpoint during June arrived earlier today as part of  its Celtic Secrets and Landscapes’ 8-day cruise. The ship will be leaving the town at 8pm tonight, 3 June. Le Champlain has the capacity for 184 guests and it's the ship's first visit to Warrenpoint.

The next one to arrive is this coming Tuesday 6 June when World Traveler arrives in the port at 9am and departs 8pm and the last one for June Azamara Pursuit arrives Thursday 15 June on its Intensive Ireland Tour at 10am and departs 7pm. Again a first visit to Warrenpoint.

Cllr Michael Savage, Chairperson of Newry, Mourne and Down Council said “The arrival of these cruise ships will allow visitors to experience the history, heritage and cultural traditional of the region, providing a boost to our local economy. Guests will be greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere showcasing the best of what Warrenpoint and the destination has to offer.”"
