Family friends and neighbours stood along the entire length of Barrack Street in Newry yesterday, June 2, to give a fitting tribute to the late Jennifer Cole as her remains were taken from her family home, for Requiem Mass in St Catherine's Dominican Church. Those assembled gave a round of applause as the cortege passed.

Jennifer was a member of the very well respected Cole family, a daughter of the late Malachy and Rosaleen and sister of Joanne, Karen, Elizabeth, Pat and Claire and the late Paul, and was an extremely popular lady in Newry and Banbridge and much further afield.

A death during the current climate is especially difficult with a public wake and funeral not being possible.

At present standing  on the roadside as a funeral passes is virtually the only way you can convey your sympathy to bereaved families, with the current strict restrictions on numbers allowed in churches and at the grave side due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

We convey our deepest sympathy to Liz and Louie on Barrack Street and the entire family circle.
