Primary school pupils from Newry, Bessbrook, Crossmaglen, Belleek, Cabra and Rostrevor met the Minister for Sport, Carál Ní Chuilín, the Mayor of Newry Councillor Charlie Casey and Banjo Bannon after their success in an art competition organised by Newry and Mourne District Council to welcome the Olympic Flame to the area.
The children also ran with Olympian Wayne McCullough as the torch crossed the border en route to Dublin on the morning of the 6 June 2012.
