Four new Councillors have been co-opted on to Newry, Mourne and Down District Council at the January full council meeting.
Replacing former Sinn Féin councillors Cllr Charlie Casey and Cllr Roisin Mulgrew in Newry are Cllr Geraldine Kearns and Cllr Cathal King while Cllr Jonathan Jackson and Cllr Callum Bowsie replace former DUP councillors Cllr Kathryn Owen and Cllr Yvonne Moore in Rowallane.
Welcoming the new Councillors, Council Chairperson Cllr Michael Savage said "I'd like to welcome four new members to the council this evening for their first meeting. Geraldine Kearns and Cathal King who are replacing Sinn Féin Councillors in Newry, you are very welcome and I wish you well in your political careers and also to Callum Bowsie and Jonny Jackson who are replacing the two DUP councillors in Rowallane. You are very welcome gentlemen and I wish you well in your political careers in the months ahead".
