Hazzard elected to Sinn Féin Ard Comhairle

South Down MP Chris Hazzard was elected to the ruling body of Sinn Féin at the party’s Ard Fheis in Dublin at the weekend.

The Ard Comhairle is elected by Sinn Féin delegates and meets regularly to govern party business.

Mr Hazzard said “It is a great honour and privilege to be elected to the Ard Chomairle and I want to thank my party colleagues for placing their trust and faith in me for the role.

“We had a very successful Ard Fheis, with historic ramifications for the party and political life generally in Ireland and its a great opportunity to represent South Down at such a level. Im looking forward to getting started.”
