Write a commentSouth Down MP, Chris Hazzard has welcomed news that the Daisy Hill’s Renal Unit has been ranked as the top local Renal unit - and fourth from right across Britain and the North of Ireland in a recent patient experience survey.
With 26 haemodialsis stations used by nearly 100 patients per week, the Renal Unit at the Daisy Hill Hospital treats patients with kidney disease from across South Down, Armagh, Tyrone and parts of Louth and Monaghan.
Speaking of the news Mr Hazzard said “This is welcome recognition for the services at the Daisy Hill and testament to the first-class team of specialist nurses, medics, pharmacists, podiatrists, social workers, dieticians and technicians who are on hand to provide this service to local patients.
“With a consistently high performance record this recognition is a strong endorsement from patients who scored the Renal Unit at the Daisy Hill so highly across a range of factors including clinical care, communication, and overall patient experience.
“I want to commend all those members of staff in the Daisy Hill who continue to provide a first-class service for local patients and their families - your commitment and passion for delivering first-class healthcare is greatly appreciated by the local community.”
