Write a commentHenderson Foodservice staff are hoping that festive road trips with over 30 lorries across 600 locations today, 22nd of December will help push the company’s annual fundraising total for the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice to over £20,000.
Staff dressed as Santa Claus and elves from the Mallusk-based hospitality supplier will be heading out on their delivery lorries to visit customers in Newry and throughout the province and drum up donations for the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.
It’s the final push in a year-long fundraising campaign which has seen the foodservice company raise £7,000 so far - a donation it has matched, to make £14,000.
Managing Director Damien Barrett, who will be taking part on Monday, said: “We’re hoping to raise at least another £3,000 from our festive road trips and again we’ll match it, which would mean raising fantastic total of £20,000 in 2014.
“Northern Ireland Children's Hospice is the only service of its type within Northern Ireland caring for children and young people with very complex needs and we are proud to support its extremely important work.”
Mr Barrett continued: “Our team will be on the road visiting around 600 locations from Coleraine to Kilkeel, and Belfast to Castlederg – we’ll even hop over the border and visit our customers in Cavan, spreading our Christmas cheer far and wide.
