Home ransacked in Fathom Line burglary

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of a burglary in the Fathom Line area of Newry on Thursday 23rd January which saw a woman in her 80's return home to find her home ransacked.

Detective Constable Middleton said: “It is believed sometime between 6.50pm and 8.20pm entry was forced into a property in the area.

“The homeowner, aged in her 80’s, returned home to find the property ransacked however it is not believed anything has been taken.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time or may have captured any dash cam footage to contact detectives in Newry on 101 quoting reference 1756 23/01/20.

“Information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
