The Housing Executive's annual Community Conference in Armagh brought together rover 300 representatives from the community, voluntary, social enterprise and statutory sectors to highlight the fantastic achievements of local groups over the past year and look ahead to future projects.
Guests were treated to a musical performance from Newry Indian Arts Club as well as inspirational talks from Gerry McConville of Falls Community Council and author Paul McVeigh. Information stalls gave delegates the chance to learn more about the products and services on offer from community groups and social enterprises. Other speakers on the day included Linda Watson from the Central Housing Forum, Colm McDaid from Supporting Communities and Eric Randall from Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful.

Jill Smyth, Head of Communities at the Housing Executive, said the conference was an important opportunity to recognise voluntary work being carried out across Northern Ireland. "Our Community Conference is a formal acknowledgement of the work communities deliver on a voluntary basis and gives an opportunity for community representatives from all over Northern Ireland to meet and network," she said.
"We highlighted some of the great work being undertaken by community groups through a series of videos and guests were treated to two inspirational talks from Falls Community Council's Gerry McConville and author Paul McVeigh."
The annual event provides a valuable networking opportunity for those working to make a difference in their communities, whilst showcasing the collaborative efforts between Housing Executive staff and local groups throughout the year.
