MP Dáire Hughes has met with representatives from the Irish Australian Chamber of Commerce at Killeavy Castle when he emphasised that our area is a great place to live, work and invest in.
The Newry and Armagh public representative said: “I was delighted to meet the Irish Australian Chamber of Commerce and outline the great potential Newry and Armagh has for investment.
“I updated the delegation on the political and economic environment, regionally and nationally. We discussed the unique opportunities afforded to the north of Ireland as a result of our access to Irish, European and British markets and the thriving all-island economy.
“I also outlined local factors that make Newry and Armagh a more attractive place to live, work and invest in. That includes Newry’s regeneration, our strategic location on the Dublin-Belfast economic corridor, improved rail connectivity, road upgrades, fantastic schools and a dynamic local workforce.”
The delegation visited several local businesses on their trip including Two Stacks Whiskey and Killeavy Castle.
Mr Hughes added “I will continue to work hard to promote Newry and Armagh, to drive better regional growth and the creation of more good-quality jobs.”
