The International Space Station can be seen in the sky above Newry for the next few days, weather permitting.

Monday night was the clearest yet but still enough cloud to lose the journey of the station long before it hit the horizon.

If you are interested in seeing it you can look out for it on Tuesday night 15th April at 9.01pm, Wednesday 9.49pm, Thursday 9.02 pm, Friday 9.49pm, Saturday 9.04 pm and Sunday 9.49pm.

It also makes an appearance most nights for a shorter spell later in the evening but the earlier one is probably the best to watch with some going on for five minutes.

Stand looking South and the Station travels very roughly from West to East and it reaches quite high in the sky.

Because the Station travels so fast (17,200mph) and is so far away the only way to photograph it is to set your camera to take a long exposure of 30 seconds plus and the Space Station will appear as a white trail line crossing your photo.

Just imagine if a car traveled at that speed you could travel from Newry to Armagh in 4 Seconds!
