MLA Liz Kimmins has said that implementing the strategy to end violence against women and girls must be a priority for all parties.
The Newry and Armagh MLA said "Last week the Assembly backed a motion to the Assembly to prioritise the implementation of the strategic framework to end violence against women and girls.
“Tackling violence against women and girls must be a priority right across our society, each and every one of us has a part to play."
Ms Kimmins attended the Women’s Aid Armagh Down 40th anniversary conference in Newry last week where she heard there were almost 600 women on a waiting list for support at present.
"These are shocking figures that sadly reflect the epidemic facing women and girls across our communities, and the pressing need for proper funding and resourcing for these vital services.
The MLA concluded "High quality and accessible services must be available to every woman and every girl who needs them.
“Sinn Féin will work together with everyone to ensure that women and girls can live their lives, free from misogyny and violence."
