Newry City AFC was launched tonight in front of a packed audience at the Canal Court Hotel who heard Irish League footballing great Ollie Ralph talk about the game and his experiences with Newry Town in the 80's and 90's.
The massive attendance surely bodes well for the future.
The Club is wasting no time in getting up and running with several pre season friendlies organised already with a mouthwatering clash against current Irn Bru League Cup winners and Current Irish Premier League side Cliftonville.
Fixtures with Dungannon Swifts, Armagh City and Banbridge Town are also in the pipeline with dates being announced soon.
You can keep up to date with all the latest club news on their new Website which has just been launched. It can be found at www.newrycityafc.co.uk
