This years Light up a life Illuminations Ceremony is at Southern Area Hospice in Newry on Thursday the 15th of December.
A Hospice Spokesperson commented "At Southern Area Hospice Services we understand how difficult Christmas can be for those who have lost a loved one, it is important to us to remember them and this is why we organise our special Light Up A Life Christmas campaign."
The campaign centres around the Christmas tree standing in the grounds of the hospice; by Christmas the tree will be illuminated with hundreds of little white lights each one representing a life - someone’s child, a mother, father, brother or sister, each one special to those who have loved them. Anyone can be remembered in this way and they do not need to have been cared for by the hospice.
“We weren’t sure what to expect, but we were delighted we came to the ceremony. It was a huge comfort for us to dedicate a light and come to remember mummy; we are happy to think that not only does our donation keep our mother a part of our Christmas, but it will also help other patients and their families who need the same care that we received” - A relative
We invite you to remember your loved one in this way and dedicate a light on our very special tree to them, a dedication form will be arriving shortly in the post simply complete it and return it to us or visit our website www.southernareahospiceservices.org. Alternatively call us on (028) 3025 1333 and we will forward a dedication form to you.
By remembering your loved ones this Christmas you will be helping the hospice to care for someone else’s.
