Southern Regional College Level 2 Beauty Student Shauneen Cunningham has had her long locks cut and has donated them to the charity, Little Princess Trust.
Shauneen, from Lislea, decided she wanted to do something personally and raise funds for a charity after a family member passed away this year from cancer.
She said “I decided that I wanted to do something on a personal level to help those suffering from cancer. When I heard of the Little Princess Trust who help boys and girls suffering from hair loss, I thought that is something that I can help with and raise funds for them at the same time.”
Jane Heasty, hairdressing lecturer at SRC cut Shauneen’s hair recently at the College and this was shown on a live Facebook feed. Shauneen was supported by SRC Hairdressing and Beauty staff, classmates, family and friends on the day.
The Little Princess Trust charity provides real hair wigs free of charge for girls and boys who are suffering from hair loss across the UK and Ireland who have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
If you would like to donate to the Little Princess Trust, Shauneen has set up a Just Giving site which can be accessed via: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Shauneen-Cunningham
