MLA Justin McNulty has said that the Narrow Water Bridge currently under development opens up the area to a whole gateway of opportunity. He also spoke of his delight at hearing the Tánaiste endorsing the work of the late PJ Bradley.
Speaking at the official launch of works at the bridge site at Cornamucklagh the Newry and Armagh representative said “It was wonderful to join both the Taoiseach and the Tánaiste as construction of the Narrow Water Bridge officially begins.
“The Narrow Water Bridge will provide a hugely symbolic link between North and South, and it will stand as a marker of progress, reconciliation and togetherness on our island. It was particularly poignant to hear Tánaiste Micheál Martin recognise the enormous contribution of the late PJ Bradley, whose vision and determination made this momentous day possible."
Speaking of the tourism potential Mr McNulty continued “The construction of Narrow Water Bridge opens up a whole gateway of opportunities for our area. It is crucial that we now harness the full potential of the development at Narrow Water to boost our tourism sector by securing the extension of Ireland’s Ancient East to include Armagh and Down, to push on with major infrastructure developments in our area, and to drive forward the enhancement of our region.”
