MLA Justin McNulty attended the State of the Taxi Sector briefing at Stormont 17 September, where representatives from the taxi industry, including Clanrye Taxis from Newry, discussed issues facing the sector including shortage of drivers.
McNulty said: "It was positive and informative to meet with representatives from the taxi industry in the North at Stormont this week including Clanrye Taxi's from Newry. We discussed a range of issues facing the sector, including driver shortages, passenger safety, licensing, fare structures and the challenges facing rural services.
"I will continue to bring these concerns to the Minister of Infrastructure and press for solutions that help drivers and passengers alike. Thank you to everyone who attended and shared their experiences."
