Finance Minister Conor Murphy and Liz Kimmins recently visited Head Injury Support on Kildare Street in Newry to meet brain injury survivors, carers and volunteers. They both were briefed by the Trustees about the current funding challenges and the rising cost of service provision.
Head Injury Support was formed in 2015 after a number of individuals who shared similar experiences came together to form a support group for survivors of brain injury, their family members and their carers.
The service provides a vital respite facility for more than 40 local families and many more through their outreach into Armagh, Dungannon and Craigavon. The common aim is to enhance the quality of life of brain injury survivors, their family members and carers.
