As part of National Moth Night, Darren Rice, The Ring of Gullion Officer, and Catherine Bertrand, Senior Regional Officer for Butterfly Conservation in Northern Ireland, will help you spot some of our biggest common garden moths including the bright pink Elephant Hawk moth, the shimmering purple/grey Poplar Hawk moth and the boldly patterned Garden Tiger - all of which can be found in the average garden!
Ring of Gullion Officer said, “Summer moths are bold and beautiful and who knows what else we will see?” Catherine will give a short presentation in the cinema room in Ti Chulainn Activity Centre in Mullaghbane before we all head outside to see what we can find. We start at 8.30pm on the 22nd of June and finish around 10pm. The evening’s event is suitable for families and anyone with a general interest in wildlife.
