Through the Extended Schools programme, St Joseph’s Boys’ High School has helped develop the capacity of the Mourne View Homework Club, by providing children with a fantastic selection of new resources including digital technology, stationary, interactive learning equipment, literacy and numeracy text books; all of which will greatly enhance the exemplary practice established by the hard working team of Ms Gemma Brolly, Ms Nicola Lowry and Ms Orla Morgan.

Extended Schools coordinator Mr Brendan Fearon explained that a key intention of the Extended Schools programme was to maximise the ‘value-added’ impact that St Joseph’s had for pupils and parents within the local community, adding - that as a result ‘we, as a school, are very proud to help support the outstanding educational, social and pastoral care provision that is experienced in the community homework club, and we take great delight in the knowledge that the dedicated staff involved are positively shaping the character, aptitude and attainment of the children within such a nurturing and rewarding environment.’
