Newry City Councillor Roisin Mulgrew has condemned the dumping of a large quantity of tyres and litter in Carnagat earlier this week and has commended the Council on their quick removal of the materials.
Cllr Mulgrew said “There was a very large number of tires and other pieces of litter removed from the area earlier this week. Materials such as this pose a risk to our local environment as well as creating a negative image for our community. Local residents deserve better
“I wish to commend the council for their swift removal of the material. Clean-ups like this cost the council and ratepayers huge amounts of money and those behind this dumping must understand the negative impact this has on community development."
