Despite the weather, there was a great turn out for the Nature Trail at Slieve Gullion recently which was organised by Newry and Mourne Council through the Ring of Gullion Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty project to help celebrate the start of spring.

The afternoon event was jam packed with activities to help children learn about birds, plants and animals that live in the area.
The afternoon was rounded up with a scavenger hunt for mini-beasts.
Therese Hamill, Ring of Gullion AONB Officer said, “We are delighted to provide people with a chance to learn more about the plants and animals in the Ring of Gullion and enjoy the breathtaking landscape. The nature trail was very well supported and it is the first of number of events, we will be running throughout the year to showcase the biodiversity of the area.”
