A dedicated comfort room for breast cancer patients and their families has opened in the Glenanne Unit at Craigavon Area Hospital.
The room was created in collaboration with the Trust's Breast Cancer Specialist Nurses and Pretty 'n Pink, and features calming lavender tones alongside artwork by Moira artist Karolina Baldyga, herself a breast cancer survivor.

Staff will use the room as a counselling space to sensitively support patients following difficult diagnoses or conversations. It will also serve as a private environment for specialist bra fitting services before and after surgery.
Declan McClements, Interim Director of Surgery and Clinical Services, said the room reflected the Trust's commitment to person-centred care.
"This room brings to life our Vision and Strategy commitment to delivering person-centred care and will make a real difference to those accessing our services. We are extremely grateful to Pretty 'n Pink for their support and to our Estates Team for transforming this area into a welcoming sanctuary for our patients."
Leanne Rooney from Pretty 'n Pink paid tribute to the Breast Care Nurses in the Glenanne Unit, describing their guidance as invaluable.
"Their dedication has been instrumental in the success of this initiative, which has already exceeded our expectations in terms of demand. Through this partnership, patients are able to receive a post-surgery bra along with essential hygiene products prior to their surgery, ensuring they feel prepared and supported."
She added: "I feel very privileged to be in a position to offer this service. A bra is an essential item, not a luxury, and no one should face the added stress of finding the correct bra or the additional financial pressure that can come with it."
Rooney also spoke of the personal significance of the partnership. "What makes this partnership especially meaningful is the close working relationship nurses Eimer and Annie shared with my sister, Noleen, our Founder. They have continued to support me and this initiative since Noleen's passing."
The service operates independently of the Pretty 'n Pink Support Fund, which provides separate financial assistance along with counselling and complementary therapy services.
