A new independent domiciliary care provider has launched in Newry, offering support to help vulnerable adults live independently at home. M&M Direct Care has cleared its registration with the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority and says it aims to ease pressure on local Health and Social Care Trusts by supporting smoother hospital discharges.
The agency is led by a local management team with extensive backgrounds in registered nursing roles within local trusts. Julia Mulligan is Responsible Individual, Annemarie McShane is Registered Care Manager, and Mark Mulligan is Head of Operations and Business Development.
M&M Direct Care offers a range of bespoke support services, including personal care, medication management, nutritional assistance and companionship visits, delivered through a localised, person centred approach.
Registered Manager Annemarie McShane said the agency's aim is to support families through a difficult transition. "Our core mission is to bridge the gap between hospital and home safely," she said. "We know how much strain our local healthcare systems are under, and we know that the vast majority of people want to retain their independence in the comfort of their own homes. By creating highly localized, consistent care teams, we are ensuring that Newry families have access to an exceptionally safe, compassionate, and fully audited alternative to residential care."
Julia Mulligan, Responsible Individual, said the company has invested in its scheduling systems to maintain high standards of care. "We have invested heavily in cutting-edge care scheduling infrastructure to eliminate unallocated or missed care hours. Our infrastructure ensures complete corporate accountability, which gives families absolute peace of mind that their loved ones are protected by a secure, reliable operational framework."
Alongside private and trust funded care packages for local families, the launch brings new employment opportunities to the area. The company has opened recruitment for Domiciliary Care Assistants, with competitive hourly rates, paid travel time and fully funded QCF diploma qualifications on offer for local jobseekers.
M&M Direct Care is now accepting enquiries for new care packages and holding community consultations. Local families, social workers or anyone interested in a career in care can contact the Newry office on 07386029292 or by emailing admin@mmdirectcare.co.uk
