As part of their continuing mission to improve how Newry looks Newry BID & Newry DEA are working in partnership with 3Ways Community Association on a project to enhance the look of the North Street subway beside the Newry Cathedral car park.
The organisation's propose to have a pilot project highlighting old photographs of Newry on the underpass and are looking views on what images should be captured in the artwork and they would also welcome any old images of Newry for consideration to be replicated for the display.
At present the area is a magnet for grafitti artists although in recent years an initiative supported by Newry BID and Live Here Love Here saw the disused steps planted by Newry 2020 and the Clanrye Group, something that has brightened up the entrance to the underpass considerably and this latest idea will only add to that.
