Raising awareness of homelessness is always important but even more so with the long winter nights upon us.

Newry man Dan Gebski came up with an idea to produce a music video for World Homeless Day this month and it's resulted in a thought provoking tune called No Way Out with filming taking place all over Newry.

Gebski who is originally from Poland also released a tune as The Dreamer called Free Fallin in 2024 to mark his 20th anniversary of living in the north, a tune which got great coverage including on BBC Radio Ulster with John Toal. Already the latest creation has been aired on Dundalk FM and Radio Lurgan.

His latest project specifically to raise awareness of homelessness within the Newry community took him over a year to put together with the help of several others including his son Daniel jnr, who was amazing as the lead singer in the video. As Gebski explains: "I would love to encourage other people to do positive projects with their kids, because it stays online and you're making good memories."

Two organisations he wants to highlight are Newry Outreach and Belfast Homeless Services and you can support them with a donation by clicking on the links to the organisations.

Currently Newry Outreach are also hosting a GoFundMe Christmas appeal at  www.gofundme.com

A special mention must go to Dean who not only wrote the song but also sang and acted in the video. Dean was homeless back home in England so he certainly knows first hand what it was like.

Gebski adds: "Another thanks goes to Jason who made the song. Wojciech who created the video clip. My friend Tomasz aka Kozioł T2T and Kerrie from Caring Coins who acted in video clip and let us to use her coffee hub."

You can view the video on YouTube at youtu.be or just click on the video in this article.

Well done to all involved.
