Former Loughgilly resident John Henning has been awarded an OBE for services to agriculture.
John is well known in farming circles as a member of the RUAS and a stalwart of local agricultural shows for many years. He now farms at Maghaberry, Co Armagh. Mr Henning a former head of Agricultural Relations at Danske Bank is presently Chairman of AgriSearch.
Newry man Colin Moffett was also awarded the title of BEM for services to local government.
Colin has worked with Newry, Mourne and Down Council and it's predecessor Newry and Mourne Council for many years and is presently Head of Corporate Policy in the Equality Department.
