Caroline and Gerard Crossan got married in November but only after Caroline's wedding dress was retrieved from Elody Bride by police officers after Bridge Street was flooded.
The couple paid a recent visit to Ardmore Police Station to thank the officers who helped rescue Caroline’s dress.
Police officers, Constables Gemma Green and Mark Douglas, waded through flood waters to get Caroline’s dress from a shop which was rapidly filling with water. The dress was retrieved just in the nick of time and staff from Elody Bride hand delivered the dress that night in time for the wedding the next day.
After returning from honeymoon the happy couple contacted police and asked if they could visit to pass on their thanks. Constable Gemma Green said: “We were delighted to be able to help Caroline and Gerard and we’re glad that their wedding day went without a hitch. It is always nice to hear a thank you, and we appreciate the effort Caroline and Gerard have made to speak to us personally.”
