Esther Dickson continued her winning form in the mountains with top performances in the Hill and Dales and NIMRA events.
DUBLIN ATHLETIC GRADED MEET, MORTON STADIUM, DUBLIN
Joanne McCauley attended a cold and wet Morton Stadium on Wednesday evening for a graded meet. She competed in the 400m race where she took 4th placing in her heat with a time of 68:84.
HILL & DALES - MEELS RACE, HAPPY VALLEY
The Meels race was the latest race in the Hill & Dale series for five Newry AC athletes to attend on Thursday evening. With a climb of approximately 1,600 feet and pretty good weather conditions the runners took on the challenge of Slieve Meelmore followed by Slieve Meelbeg from the picturesque base setting of Happy Valley. Ground conditions were wet and on the slippery side due to the recent rain, and this proved a challenge under foot for runners especially coming off the Meelbeg summit. Maurice Harte was first in for Newry AC in 12th placing and lifted first MV40 in a time of 33:44. Esther Dickson continued her strong form and finished first lady and 13th overall. Warren Cartmill was next over the line to take 20th placing, second MV40 in a time of 35:21. Full results are as follows:

ULSTER/NI JUVENILE ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS. MARY PETERS TRACK, BELFAST
On a very wet and mocky Saturday afternoon, Meadow McCauley competed in the U17s 800m event. She finished in 2nd placing and qualifies for the Irish Juveniles to be held at Tullamore in July.
NIMRA FLAGSTAFF TO CARLINGFORD RACE
Six Newry AC athletes took on the 11 miles and 3,000 feet challenge of the Flagstaff to Carlingford NIMRA Race on Sunday morning. The weather conditions were perfect and for the first year in a long time the runners could see where they going! Ground conditions were wet after all the weeks heavy rainfall but this did not phase the hardened Newry AC mountain runners. Esther Dickson continued her winning form and was first home for the Newry AC athletes and took the 1st lady prize, nearly 8 minutes clear of the 2nd female finisher. Ciara Coffey also lifted 3rd female in the FV40 category. In the mens race, Cathal McGreevy was first home for the Newry AC male team lifting 2nd MV40 prize and 11th place. Rory Mulvaney and Adam Ervine had a good race and both came in over the line together (14th & 15th). Paul Le Blanc completed the finishing line for the men and with these great performances the men placed 2nd overall Male Team. Full results are as follows:
