The Newry branch of an international network for mums in business is being relaunched with the promise of more events locally.
Mums in Business International (MIB Int) is a global network that empowers women in business, with a unique child-friendly and inclusive approach. Kerri Havern from Caring Coins was leading the Newry branch for a few months but she is stepping into a new role within MIB International, and local business owner Deirdre Lyle has stepped into the role of Networking Leader for the group.
Lyle explains “I’m so excited to relaunch MIB Int in Newry and bring together more of our amazing local businesswomen. The child-friendly approach is a game-changer, especially during summer months when traditional networking doesn’t always work for mums. This is about community, collaboration, and real support for women at all stages of business.”
"As a business owner myself, I'm painfully aware of how difficult it can be to juggle mum and business life. I'm passionate about women supporting women and on a mission to build a warm, support community of mums in business in Newry. I’m relaunching the group and ramping up activity locally with more in-person events, fresh energy, and a commitment to making networking accessible and supportive, especially over the summer when childcare challenges often limit opportunities." Lyle added.
Events are open to all women in business (not just mums) and offer a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, no suits or formalities required. And best of all, children are always welcome to attend, removing a major barrier for many female entrepreneurs.
Their next event takes place on Monday 28 July at 10am in Caring Coins Café in Newry. It’s a chance for local women to connect, collaborate, and grow their businesses with zero pressure and plenty of support.
