Newry City Climate Action Festival kicks of this Friday 22 April with many local environment enhancing projects under discussion over the weekend. Events are based at the festival hub, Newry Conference and Banqueting Centre, 39-41 The Mall, Newry.
Keynote Speaker at the event on Friday 22 April will be environmentalist and architect Duncan Stewart, the host of RTE's Eco Eye.
Also on Friday night Speakers from Belfast's Eastside Partnership will discuss how the building of the amazing Connswater Greenway, a £40M 9km linear park through east Belfast, has completely and utterly transformed the City, which will lead nicely into a discussion from Newry 2020 on 'Why Newry Needs a Park' as well as a talk from Narrow Water Bridge Community Network on their plans based around the proposed Narrow Water Bridge.
On Saturday 23 April discussions will include Rostrevor's famous 'Invisible Tree', Community Gardens, Youth Climate Action and a Canal Critters Art Workshop for Children.
Sunday 24 April sees open days at Community Gardens in Warrenpoint and Rostrevor.
