Write a commentNewry, Mourne & Down District Council in association with Newry City Centre Management have organised this years Halloween Celebrations taking place once again at the beautiful Albert Basin but note they are a night early this year on Friday the 30th of October so don't turn up a day late!
There will be a wide variety of free events from 6pm to 9pm there is something for everyone including the chance to win in the Fancy Dress Competition, a ghost train and spectacular Fireworks.
Commenting on the event Cllr Naomi Bailie, Chairperson, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council said “As Chairperson it gives me great pleasure to present this year’s very impressive Halloween celebrations events programme. I extend an open invitation to one and all across the district area to come along be a part of a truly spook-tacular memorable free family, fun evening out.”
Events
Open Air Concert 6:00PM – 9:00PM with the James Peake Experience.
Pumpkin Carving
Children will have the opportunity to design / create their very own scary pumpkin to take home. Please be advised numbers will be limited and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Creepy Colouring Competition
Children can enjoy arts and crafts by entering into the ‘Creepy Colouring Competition’
There are 5 £20 Shopping Vouchers to be won.
Halloween Photo Booth
The Costume Corner will be in attendance to add that something special to our Halloween celebrations and capture memories of all the scary but funny faces that will make sure to get a good laugh.
On Street Entertainment
Free Face painting and Spooky Airbrush tattoos
Mix and Mingle with the Ghosts, Ghouls and Witches on-street entertainment
Fire Poise will be on show with a freestyle fire juggling show
Ghost Train
Children will enjoy a tour on our Halloween Ghost Train
Hall of Spooky Mirrors
Children will enjoy a tour of the Hall of Spooky Mirrors which will be ‘spooktacular’
Flossy Treats
Children will enjoy decorating chocolate apples
Fancy Dress Competition - £500 in cash prizes to be won
The Fancy Dress Competition registration will take from 6:30pm – 7:30pm with the winners being announced on stage at 8:00pm. Registration desk will be located inside the Quays Shopping Centre entrance at the Albert Basin side.
Fireworks 9:00pm
The celebrations will conclude with an electrifying fireworks extravaganza.
