A Newry woman who has had two babies at Daisy Hill Hospital is asking people to share their experience of the hospital's maternity services. She is encouraging anyone who has used the service in the last 3 years to post their story on Care Opinion, a website that highlights people's experiences of health and social care.
She believes that every story helps show the real value of Daisy Hill Maternity Services.
Anyone who received care at the hospital in the last 3 years is being asked to take part. That includes antenatal appointments, scans, labour, the birth itself, postnatal care and the neonatal unit, as well as care from midwives, doctors and the wider maternity team.
You may want to mention a midwife who reassured you when you were nervous, a doctor who supported you through a difficult birth, or a member of staff who helped in the first hours with your baby. Others may simply want to say what it meant to have maternity care available close to home.
If you feel someone at Daisy Hill made a difference to you, perhaps supporting you through a difficult or frightening time let the world know what a great facility Daisy Hill is.
Care Opinion allows people to share their experience of health and social care directly. Posts do not need to be long and can simply be an account of the experience in the person's own words.
Behind every statistic is a family and behind every maternity service is a story.
People can share their Daisy Hill maternity story at www.careopinion.org.uk
