Newry man Barry Bannon has once again embarked on his charity running challenge to raise much needed funds for local charity Davina's Ark Aftercare Addiction Centre.
It's the fourth year the 34 year old has organised his runs, The challenge will see him running 10km a day for 100 days. He started his running at the Newry City Half Marathon/ 10k on 25 May and the challenge will be complete 1 September 2025. Bannon can be seen out on his early morning runs on Newry Canal Towpath and the Carlingford Lough Greenway.
Speaking about his challenge Bannon said "I would love to reach out to more people and raise much needed awareness around addiction and mental health. Hopefully I can get more people involved and help educate more young people about the disease. I feel it’s time to make a change for this generation and beyond. I’m raising money for Davina’s Ark Aftercare Addiction Centre which is a local charity and do much much great work with addiction and family support. "
